Locked among Taliban, Islamic state and American air strikes, Afghan civilians have been forced to flee their homes on the outskirts of Jalabalaldal, where they found refuge within an unfinished university building.
About 1,500 internally displaced persons, including hundreds of women and children, reportedly seek refuge in this area, many from the Achin and Haska Meyna districts in the province of Nangarhar in southern Afghanistan.
They have fled the fighting between Afghan forces and Taliban, as well as the atrocities of other terrorist groups.
“Militants of Islamic State slaughtered our uncle, saying he was a spy, so we were forced to leave our homes, as they informed us that tomorrow we would be killed”, said one of the civilians, who had experienced the horrors caused by the Islamic group, reported “Russia Today”, broadcast Periscope.
Since the 2001 invasion, Washington is estimated to have spent over 700 billion dollars in military aid, reconstruction and economic aid in Afghanistan, but much of that money appears to have been destroyed by the country's military and political elites./Periscopi/
