In September of this year, at the annual meeting of the Interpol General Assembly, among other things, will be voted for Kosovo's membership in this organisation.
This, after the Interpol Executive Committee has accepted Kosovo's request since June of this year, thus putting it into the agenda of the organisation's highest decision-making body at the General Assembly today, Koha Ditore writes.
In the meeting, to be held in Beijing, China, from 26 September to 29 September, Kosovo needs 2/3 of all representatives present to a total of 190 states as members of the organisation.
This has mobilised the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. Days ago at the government's regular meeting, the initiative for accession of the Republic of Kosovo in Interpol has been voted. At this meeting, incumbent Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, stressing the importance of being part of this organisation, has expressed optimism about membership.
