Former head of Muslim Brotherhood in critical health condition

The state of health of the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood Organisation (Ihvan), Muhammad Mehdi Akif (89), who was arrested after the military coup in Egypt, reports the Anadolu Agency (AA).

Nexhala Akif, the daughter of Akif, in a Facebook post concerning the health situation of her father, who has been in prison for four years, has indicated that my father's “health situation worsens every day and more, the situation is critical. ”

After having made it known that she met her father at the el Kasr el-Ayni hospital in Cairo, Ayla Necla Akif stressed: “My parents told me that my father is fighting death. At present, he can neither eat nor drink nor feed only on the serum. Hence, there are difficulties in speaking and opening eyes. ”

While no declaration has been made on the matter by the Egyptian Health Ministry.

Muhammad Mehdi Akif, who was arrested after the July 2013 military stamp in Egypt, due to health problems in September the same year, was sent to the military hospital.

Akif in the “case council council events” for which he is tried has been sentenced to life in prison, but the Supreme Court in January, undermining the verdict, has imposed its retrial.
