Grabovci elected prosecutor dismissed investigations against Sokol Bashata

A recent public audit report had made a list of violations of the mayor of the municipality, Sokol Basota, who had resulted in an indictment of him by the Special Prosecutor. But, after more than a year, the prosecution announced Tuesday that it has stopped investigating the case, considering there is no fact linking it to any criminal action.

The investigation launched by Special Prosecutor Admir Shala was fired by Silla Hoxha, a person considered close to the Democratic Party of Kosovo, including Sokol Basota.

The audience had found that the municipality of Kline has allocated 20,000 euros for the organisation of the traditional festival “we sing freedom”, which is held on June 6,7.8th. Basota was also the director of this festival. The next case of conflict of interest, according to the audit report, was the fact that Basota had subsidized the football club “Dukagini”, where he held the position of head of this club.

In a research published under the Boss's File, a series of wiretapping is evidenced by the influence of senior PDK officials in the systeming of their close people in independent agencies, courts, Kosovo police, the media and others, Hoxha's name is mentioned in a conversation between Grabovac and Nyazi Thaci from the PDK branch in Prizren.

In this conversation, held in November 2011, it proves that the PDK in Prizren has chosen for chief prosecutor Syla Hoxha, who in the past was a senior official of the Democratic League of Kosovo. Hoxha has been deputy minister of justice from this party.

He had left the LDK once after the party had passed by a rift after the Carrie Assembly. Sylla Hoxha had been present at this party convention, which she had been appointed as deputy justice minister.

As Grabovci reads the candidates' names, Kryeziu selects them, removing candidates he considers not PDK but Eqrem Kryeziu and Fatmir Limaj off the list.
