The presence of Russian citizens indicted in Kosovo, according to specific indicators, is increasing compared to years earlier, praised Burim Ramadani, director of the SPRC Security Policy Research Centre. His reasons may be different, but he does not believe that it is a matter of normal work and legal activity.
He, in a proposal for Indexline, has said that the ongoing crises in Kosovo also pave the way for the penetrate of the Russian factor, thus seriously jeopardising Kosovo's National Security.
“ -Kosovo can also be caused by years of continuation of the fragility of the state of Kosovo, unstable institutions, very artificial political crises, the lack of political and national unity of local political elites in issues involving National Security, the full non-compliance of the Serbian community, non-coupling problems with Serbia, as well as the non-completion of the National Security Architecture of Kosovo<3>, he said.
Ramadani has explained that Russia, through the so-called Romanian-Serbe Humanitarian Centre in Nis of Serbia, has increased its presence throughout the region, and aims are often even public to influence the Balkan region.
“We like the SPRC, in an analysis of the situation that we published a few weeks ago, have found that Russia's role in the Balkans has increased markedly even through this so-called Center in Nis, but also through the Propagandistic War to portray Kosovo in completely false containers. We have also found that Russian targets in relation to Kosovo are primarily related to Kosovo's submission as an unstable country, as an artificial state and as a country, as the Russian government has officially said, “enclaws, shelters of bandits and terrorists”. Therefore, to serve these false findings, Russia can even do similar actions as it is believed to have done in Montenegro”, Ramadani has said.
In fact, in the analysis of possible scenarios, according to Ramadani it is not excluded for Russia, through secret agents, to attempt or cause acts of violence, even targeting individuals.
In such a case, it may be thought that Russia aims to cause instability within Kosovo and to promote deepening violent actions”, Ramadani has said.
