The Gjakova municipality's Directorate for Protection and Rescue reports that on 24 August, field exercise “Mascal” will be held at Gjakova Airport, which is designed according to the “reduction of the commercial aircraft in Kosovo”, where mass casualties and injuries are predicted by travelers and crew.
The exercise is organised by the Agency for Emergency Management/ MPB with government co-ordination mandate, part of which will be the Gjakova municipality and will be supported by KFOR in organisational and implementation terms.
Keeping this exercise is aimed at testing local and international reactions to incidents of this kind in the country.
The Directorate for Protection and Rescue with the aim of avoiding any evental concern informs citizens, especially those living near the airport, that it is an exercise with planned scenarios.
