France returns 30 Albanian asylum seekers

Albania's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Rowena Voda, from Rinas, conveyed a message to Albanian citizens trying to travel to EU countries, stressing that the chances of receiving asylum are zero.

The deputy minister made this statement from Rinas, where the repatriation of 30 Albanians from France was made this Wednesday.

 “We are here to deliver a message to all citizens of the Republic of Albania, to say that prospects for asylum in EU countries are zero. For already three years, Albania has been on the list of countries of safe origin -- a safe place where its citizens, prospects, I stress once again to seek asylum -- are zero. So I call on all citizens of Albania to be aware that, of course, free movement will not be affected. ”

This is the third charter plane with Albanians repatriated as another is expected within a few days.

Within this context, the State Police have also taken a plan of measures, has issued several orders to monitor the entry and exit movements of Albanian citizens to the borders of the Republic of Albania, but this concern raised by EU countries certainly has been made by us, by the Albanian state, with the maximum commitment of all border police structures of the Albanian state, that will be monitored with great responsibility the movement of citizens, but also want citizens themselves to be aware that their movement should be in line with the rules of free movement in the EU countries.

The order issued by the State Police General Director is precisely about strengthening border control measures.
