Albania's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Rowena Voda, from Rinas, conveyed a message to Albanian citizens trying to travel to EU countries, stressing that the chances of receiving asylum are zero.
The deputy minister made this statement from Rinas, where the repatriation of 30 Albanians from France was made this Wednesday.
“We are here to deliver a message to all citizens of the Republic of Albania, to say that prospects for asylum in EU countries are zero. For already three years, Albania has been on the list of countries of safe origin -- a safe place where its citizens, prospects, I stress once again to seek asylum -- are zero. So I call on all citizens of Albania to be aware that, of course, free movement will not be affected. ”
This is the third charter plane with Albanians repatriated as another is expected within a few days.
Meanwhile, state police have also taken a plan of measures to monitor the movement of the entrances and exits of Albanian citizens to strengthen border control. Albania is on the list of safe countries, so the only way for all those citizens who want to find jobs in EU countries is the legal way.
The word of the interior minister.
Rowena Voda: We are back in Rinas, here in another operation of repatriating Albanian asylum seekers returned from the French state through a charter.
We are here to deliver a message to all citizens of the Republic of Albania, to say that prospects for asylum in EU countries are zero.
For already three years, Albania has been on the list of countries of safe origin -- a safe place where its citizens, prospects, I stress once again to seek asylum -- are zero.
So I call on all citizens of Albania to be aware that, of course, free movement will not be affected.
Of course, they have a right within the borders of the Schengen area to move, they have their freedom, but they must also respect the rules of this movement.
I think this message should be clear to everyone.
Within this context, the State Police have also taken a plan of measures, has issued several orders to monitor the entry and exit movements of Albanian citizens to the borders of the Republic of Albania, but this concern raised by EU countries certainly has been made by us, by the Albanian state, with the maximum commitment of all border police structures of the Albanian state, that will be monitored with great responsibility the movement of citizens, but also want citizens themselves to be aware that their movement should be in line with the rules of free movement in the EU countries.
We ask them, we bring this message to the awareness of all Albanian citizens not to affect, I stress it once again, not to risk what we achieved with much effort, our free movement within EU borders.
The order issued by the State Police General Director is precisely about strengthening border control measures.
The order issued under the new border law, issued in 2016, went into effect in 2016 and that is in the course of implementing the new law which is linked to that of the EU, but also in the framework of the terms of the movement of Albanian citizens in the Schengen area, that is, with a set of measures to strengthen border control, but I always stress by maintaining the balance of right to free movement.
Of course, there will be checks, they'll be the same. Of course a more important subject of control will be Integrated citizens and they infiltrated, there will probably be more checks on the second line of control for citizens who can get data out of the system so system T IMS, but nothing extraordinary.
Perhaps even the noise we've heard in the media that is affecting the free movement of Albanian citizens is not true, I said everything is a within the reform of the law that we have for border control, related to EU legislation, but also as I said, all measures of free movement of citizens within the Schengen area.
Do not seek asylum within EU countries,
The prospects for asylum are zero.
Albania is on the list of safe places.
All those citizens who claim a better school, who want to find jobs, have all legal opportunities, legal ways to seek something like that in EU countries.
