Former Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi had talked for the first time about health problems in 2015.

“While I was chairman of Mitrovica in 2008, I had lymphoma, lymph node tumors, aggressive tumors. At first I wanted to think that I had only one tooth problem, but later it was found to be another problem. I have operated in Pristina, even though I have been able to go abroad, I have always believed in our doctors. I've been to Hamburg for tests. I finished three cycles in Kosovo, three there. I've been asked to go every six months, but I'm not holding on. Now I'm fine and I forgot I had surgery. My will and determination have healed”, Rexhepi declared.

He next relates how he had not told his family, his wife, and his daughter about his illness until the last moments.

I have promised the girl that until I settle her down, I won't die, but I will be next to you”, Rexhepi said in this 2015 interview.
