This is Enver Hoxha's big secret that he kept during the last days of his life

In Tirana it was everywhere for Enver Hoxha's disease. The fact that he suffered from diabetes and stem diseases that hit him after another whisper everywhere. But from the party's high dome, everything was kept silent.
Of course, these important moments would be recorded by Haxhi Croy, the dictator's personal secretary, who for 40 years was his most trusted man. How events in Block are described in his famous diary, and it is in Enver Hoxha's famous villa from which the fates of an entire nation were played. In an exclusive publication in the newspaper “Panorama”, Haxhi Croi relates:
Enver Hoxha has given up the party's leadership several months before his life, even earlier. They have been successive diseases that have forced him to hand over power in silence, but without officially declaring it. Beyond this being whispered up and down in voice in years of dictatorship, Haxhi Kroi in the diary has documented in its peaceful style “the peaceful approach of passing power from Hoxha to Alia. His notes reveal that the head of the regime, since his stroke in February 1984, remained a rare guest in the CEC office.
At the same time with Hoxha's statement leading the party from home, the chief of the cabinet notes to the diary that, in most of the time, duties at the CQ's Aparat communicates Ramisi, “is understood by Croi, as he consults earlier with fellow Enver, who often goes home”. However, messages that came day after day from Willa 31, where Hoxha suffered in bed, were increasingly shocking, as well as the finally-enabled Croi himself more than anyone with his absence at the helm of the Party, a moment of heartfelt wishing “at least to breathe that the party and the country is leading the friend Ramiz and other leading friends, who have experience as leader of the State Party<3>.
By stopping in the dire situation when Enver struggled between life and death in bed, the faithful official who worked 40 years in his office explains in detail the special role he played in this period, which, as Kroi writes, reaches as far as speaking in the name of his husband, not just routine issues but also important state problems, which were by then on the threshold of the first secretary of the CQ. In Croi's diary, for obvious reasons, there's no explanation for how Alia climbed into Hodge's post, but there are notes here that confirm his approach to Zeus' court, just after the death of Kapos, and some more after suicide in Shehu's questionable condition. Interesting in Hoxha's memory of the discrete man are the moments when the man passed away. In addition to personal experiences, Croey brings the situation to the CQ camera and the leadership's villa in Block, the first people to comfort the Najmija and the role he took right now Ramiz Alia, where he almost appeared officially as head of the post-Evers country...
DIT ARI OF 1985

She called me Sevoja from Gjirokastra and asked if it could be published in “Pararoo” and “Ljjjko Vima”, which has sent Comrade Enver to blind educators from the minority, Ilia Gazhgo, who will go to town today to the village of Bularat or Bodrish, where he lives. I think it could be published, I said, but wait for the author's approval, I informed him. I sent a letter to my friend Nexmije and wrote that it would be good to print this letter on these two local organs, and she answered: I'm not disturbing my friend Enver, but I agree that it's going to be published”.

I talked to my friend Sulo about some problems in the photo lab under difficult conditions.

Sulo Gradec came to the CQ Pass to bring Ramiz, Lenka, Simon and Vangéreva pictures that came out with Comrade Enver at home when they went to congratulate him on October 16, 1984, on the occasion of his 76th birthday. Sulua seemed calm, which allowed me to realize that Comrade Enver must be better in health. Day and night, we have our minds there.

At 1:30, my friend Ramiz called. He had friends Reiz Malel and Sofok Lazri in his office. It gave me the text of a draftnotation to Greece's Foreign Ministry, in which it strongly protestes against the continued provocations of some Greek reactions and chauvinists before our embassy in Athens. The Greek government is not taking measures against the provocations. Some of the most revolting is the position of lawkeepers yesterday in front of terrorist acts of chauvinist gangs, who set fire to our Embassy building in Athens, who destroyed even embassy vehicles and they did well. Later I informed Comrade Ramiz of the following: Two days ago my old communist Shpend Branch met me that he was commissioned by the father of the engineer Dochi's coin preparer and author of other criminal acts, sentenced to death, Maxhon Dochi and his brother, to inform Comrade Enver of their demands that this bandit be forgiven. First I told fellow Shpend that the Party recognises this family as a family of patriotic traditions in the Gjakova Mountains, so even though one member has committed criminal acts against the state, the Party does not diminish the consideration it has for this family and its circle, but in my opinion, that they do not do well and that I cannot let fellow Enver know, if they want to let him speak, or presidium, but good is to condemn this criminal act with hatred. Shpend told me that he too felt, but he was commissioned to say these things.

About 9:00 p.m., Comrade Ramiz called me and told me if I had informed Comrade Enver of the people's death, Sander Prosi. I told her I just found out about you, I didn't know anything. It's nice to meet him, he ordered me, even though I think he killed himself. It may be that Comrade Enver knows. I immediately sent a note home to my friend Nexmije, who evidently made it known to my friend Enver, that she agreed that she would agree to prepare a telegram of comfort on behalf of Sister Enver and go to the family. She ordered that Sandra's role in the Popular Theatre and cinematography be noted on paper.

My friend Ramiz gave me a material to send to Comrade Enver on the talks our delegation has made with English representatives in Paris from March 16 to March 21st on the gold issue that has robbed us of Great Britain for more than 40 years. It discusses the results of the talks and the continuation of them on 16 April, yes in Paris, between the two countries. Last night, in anticipation given by the Greek ambassador on the occasion of the Greek revolution's victory holiday, Comrade Reiz Malley spoke with the ambassador for the situation in Greece. Regarding President Karamalis' surprise resignation, which took all public opinion by surprise, the Greek ambassador said, now depends on what Karamanlis will do, especially this week. If he wants to intervene in the current political struggle related to the president's election and PASOK's proposals for changes in the Constitution, then the situation has to be more complicated.
My friend Ramiz told me that information now don't send it to your friend Enver in enlarged letters, because she reads it to her friend Najmije, since she's out of sight. What do you think? I don't know what to say, Comrade Ramiz, I said, "I haven't sent any material in two weeks," "When there's anything we send it to our friend Nedhmije." But if she reads it, it is better, because her eyes are not tired that she has not had right in recent years. You know the situation even better than you ever see when you go, I told my friend Ramiz, so it's better to read to your friend Najmije to keep her eyes out.

I sent my friend Enver two materials to be discussed at the meeting of the Political Bureau. Now they're reading to a friend of Najmije. The fact that we send it shows that Comrade Enver is able to give his own thoughts to friends who need his help. With the attitude of Comrade Enver at home, Comrade Ramiz and other leading companions are leading the country's entire life, although only Brother Enver's help in major matters has their great experience as party and state leader.

After three weeks without coming to the office, our friend Nexmije arrived in Aparat today. That means that Comrade Enver may be better off in health. I was also delighted today by Sulo's statement that Comrade Enver seems a little better, even though his feet have not come. At least we get it right, even as it is. At least be able to get some advice for friends on the main issues, but also for the sake of internal and external enemies, which only Comrade Enver's name makes them dread.

I sent my friend Enver through my friend Nedmije's greeting that he'll send to the jubilee meeting on the 40th anniversary of the border gun.
Tuesday, April 9, 1985
Today it was scheduled to be a meeting of the Political Bureau. Four days ago on April 5th, the meeting of the CEC Secretariat in which Comrade Enver naturally did not attend. He hasn't come to KQ's Aparat since 12 February, and he even held it tight that day, Comrade Ramiz. After two days, Comrade Ramiz told me that Comrade Enver doesn't have his legs at all. My friend Nexmije also told me later about his difficult condition, which he cannot walk, and at home he is moving only by chariot. From time to time, friend Ramiz goes home, no doubt for consultations, for advice on the most important problems, and we don't know anything about him. Our heart will get a little better, and we can think of it, why even our friend Nexmije is not working.
Members of the Political Bureau gathered and were talking in the meetingroom, and Comrade Adil had gone to Comrade Ramiz's office since 09:30. Six minutes ago they came out. Comrade Adil made his way to his friends, and Comrade Ramiz visited Comrade Enver. Clearly, Comrade Enver is not going to come to this meeting and he probably called his friend Ramiz to talk to him, maybe on issues of importance that the Political Bureau will consider, maybe how it will be resolved on how to take care of Comrade Enver's participation only through the advice conversations he will give his friends, or by finding some other way to come and meet his friends. Once, until 1953-1954, Comrade Enver called home meetings of the CEC Political Bureau and Secretariat. There he made contact with friends who needed to consult.
That's what I'm saying, maybe it could be practiced now, but then it's the question of attending the KQ Plenomium meetings, but especially showing up to the public, that it's been so long that people haven't seen it and they want to watch it, at least on TV. All that I wrote above would be the worst, I learned that the meeting of the Political Bureau took place without Comrade Ramiz. The concern for Brother Enver's health becomes even greater. With this deep concern, I went home. When I had just had dinner, she called the CQ's Aparat's den and informed me that, by order of my friend Lenka, I had to come to work. I tried not to be in my family and immediately went to Aparat.
Helpers and other principal cadres were gathered at the office of Comrade Piro Kondy. We stayed there about an hour. Then we were told to wait in the office. Comrade Leka Short asked me: More, how's Comrade Enver's health? I answered what the reality was like, I didn't know anything, but suspicion and concern grew when the CQ officer told me that the Party's secretaries came out of the direction and that all of us waiting in the offices were told to leave. I, who has known for over a year the state of my friend Enver's health, left with a huge jumble in my chest and gathered forces to give nothing understood in the family and didn't understand. I didn't sleep at night.
April 10, 1985
At 7:00 p.m. without five, I was in the office. For hours I could not read something. The morning ended in tension and anxiety. I went back to my office in the afternoon. At 4:30 p.m., my friend Piro Condy called and told me that our friend Ramiz would meet with us. I told my friends. The three of us were silent and didn't say anything to each other, but we felt that something serious awaited us. Soon afterward, Comrade Ramiz came to my office and gave us the terrible news that since yesterday, Comrade Enver is in a very serious, serious condition, he stressed, that the organism does not operate, it only lives in equipment. I'm telling you as close associates of my dear friend Enver, he added, as some of the CQ's leading cadres were reported last night, as was announced today by Plenum and today the first secretaries of the circle. Only a miracle can turn this very serious situation around, Brother Ramiz told us that in fact, it was hinted that he has no hope. We wept and trembled. My friend Ramiz advised us to be strong.
Thursday, April 11, 1985
At 2:40, when I was asleep, the phone rang. Comrade Sul Gradec had arranged to go to Comrade Enver's house. I immediately understood the matter, but I did not give up. At 2:55 p.m., I moved to the Party House, where Skender Tafaj told me that the Political Bureau had gone home to visit my friend Nexhamije. I met with the silent and heart - stricken service officers, and I stood in expectation of the arrival of friends Shefqet Pechi, Hakki Toska, Spiro Koleka and Pilo Perister, who were introduced, as well as of Brother Enver's closest and loyal friends. After my friend Spiro, I joined him. My friend Nexmie, tired and distressed by the deep pain and extreme fatigue of the last two days, waited at the door and gave me her hand. I hugged her like my friend and sister. “left for us Enver, friend Hagi, with whom you also spent a lifetime of”, she told me. Hold your fire, I'm holding on. I took turns embracing the strong Spring, Ilir, Sokoli, and Clem, and I was measured to leave, when my friend Adil stood up and grabbed my neck... At 7: 00 p.m., the CQ's camera assembled and friend Lenka communicated the news of the horror. At 12:00 a.m., Radio Tirana gave the CQ communiqué that was heard all over the country in great silence.
