Three days before his holiday on the Albanian coast ended, a Dutch tourist has fallen prey to a theft located just a few metres from where he was accommodated.
Unidentified people have broken his car, stealing money and everything else that they found inside. The event took place Saturday afternoon, on the beach in Spine.
Sources from Tirana Police said that citizens from the Netherlands, 54-year-old with initials E.D., have denounced the event at the Rrogozyna Commission, after announcing earlier in the emergency number.
He claimed that around 7:00 p.m., when he was coming back from the beach with his wife, he saw their car's glass broken. The car was parked just a few yards from the sea shore in a parking lot that was frequented during the days in Albania.
He has initially suspected any possible incidents, but after checking inside, he has seen the bank's money, phone and cards missing. He immediately found out it was a robbery and called an emergency number.
Unidentified persons have broken their car by stealing 1,200 euros, a smartphone “Samsung Galaxy”, as well as bank cards. Police said yesterday they started investigating the scene, beginning with the verification of several fingerprints that were listed in the Dutch tourist vehicle.
While local security cameras are also being verified, the parking vehicle where the robbery occurred was parked in the parking lot. Sources said several suspected persons have been accompanied, mainly those who were previously mapped for theft and are known as problematic in the beach area. But the possibility that the authors may not even be residents of the area is not ruled out, for in this period the perpetrators of theft are also moving from other cities. /Panorama/
