Kosovo's ambassador to the US, Vlora Citaku, is debating the UN Organisation Security Council against Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic on the occasion of presenting the Kosovo Report.
Citaku has also responded to Dacic's earlier statements, when he said that Citaku is Albanian and not Kosovar, writes Periscopi.
Citaku asked Daciqi if she should go to Albania as an Albanian, laying out the argument that Albanians live for centuries in the Balkans and that Kosovo is a state of all.
I heard that, and there was a whole deport operation that there were Albanians. Does this mean I have to go to Albania, or how? Kosovo is a state and belongs to all communities. No one can tell me that since I was Albanian I don't deserve to live there. We've lived there for centuries. If you go there are many books telling the history of Albanians in the Balkans”, she said, Periscopi writes.
Citaku also mentioned KLA commanders Sami Lushtaku of Ramush Haradinaj, who have been subject to war crimes charges, with charges initiated by Serbia.
She said that both are deliverers and that they have fought before their court.
“Sami Lushtaku of Ramush Haradinaj have fought in their backyard, in front of their home with the intention of protecting and freeing a nation”, she said.
According to Citaku's statement, Serbia must face its past, not just Kosovo.
Kosovo has its own way and its future. Serbia must face its past, just because of its future”, she said. /Periscopi/
