Angela Merkel Muhammad, Germany's youngest resident

A newborn girl in Germany has been appointed, Angela Merkelmah.

Parents from Syria have said that the reason they named their daughter has been a sign of honor to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who by her policies has enabled them to start a new life in Germany in 2015.

The German hospital, west of Muenster, has told the news agency dpa, that the girl's first name is Angela, the middle, Merkel, and her surname.

However, it has reported that this baby is not the only one to bear that name, since another Syrian family who has sought asylum in Germany has named her daughter by the same name.
