Adia Sakiqi, Albania's ambassador to the Netherlands, says there is no report or concern by Dutch authorities for the movement of Albanians in the area “Schengen”, or the possibility of restoring the visa regime.

In an interview for the newspaper “Panorama”, Sacqi sees normal and part of parliamentary activity the Dutch deputies' interest in writing the newspaper “De Telegrain” and the noise made in Albanian media. She says there has been a distorted translation of the Dutch newspaper's writing by the Albanian media, but that, according to her, there is actually no police report about the activities of Albanian criminals.

Fortunately, we have had no concern with the Dutch authorities. Our embassy contacted the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice after reading the article, not in the newspaper “De Telegrain”, in the Netherlands, but the distorted translation that was done in Albania, as the paper clearly stated that this police document had not been handed over to the Ministry of Justice and Security. We requested the official version from the Dutch Ministry and they assured us that they did not receive any reports from the police concerning the activities of criminals or perpetrators from Albanian-speaking people. I contacted and with the Dutch Foreign Ministry, where I spoke to the EU enlargement co-ordinator, who assured me that such reports do not exist, because if he had to come on the official line, as are channeled all communications in democratic states. If a newspaper writes about the activity of Albanian perpetrators in Amsterdam, it is something else.” Sakiqi said.

Our ambassador to the Netherlands also states that the blame is not for the Dutch newspaper but of the Albanian media, which have translated the word for decision.

It was no longer the fault of “De Telegraaf” than the bad translation of Albanian newspapers that the word “thought” of a policeman translated into the Netherlands “decision” for setting up visas.”
