The ballistic programme of North Korea presents a new level of threat, the Japanese Defence Ministry declares in an annual report released Tuesday, where Tokyo is also alarmed by China's military ambitions.
Japan has been watching for decades the technological advances of its Korean neighbour, but tensions have increased even more recently, with the testing of an intercstinctical ballistic missile on July 4th, followed on July 28th with a second test, technically taking part of the American continent below the Pythian ray.
“Since last year, the oscillator, North Korea, which has conducted two nuclear tests and released more than 20 nuclear missiles, represents a new degree of threat”, the Defence Minister, Itsunori Onodera, points out in this report.
Onodera, who has just been appointed to the government of Shinzo Abe after having had this post in late 2012 to September 2014, described the Korean risk as major and immediate.
“very likely, over time, the risk of deploying ballistic missiles capable of reaching our country” is insisted on this document.
The UN Syguirm Council approved on Saturday, unanimously a resolution that significantly reinforces sanctions imposed on North Korea, which, if respected, must deprive gyjan of a billion dollars a year's income.
