Officials said the victims were babies and children under the age of 12, at least ten children at the hospital “MRD Medical College” died of encephalitis, while other children died due to lack of medical supply, broadcast Indescsonlion
Director of the hospital said that the hospital supply is done by a private company and dismissed accusations by officials that the cause of children's death was lack of oxygen and that there was a lack of medical means.
Officials from the state of northern India have launched an investigation into the case, the British agency said.
