A group of women were seen taking their headscarves off and burning them after their families were released from the city in northern Syria on Thursday.
They had followed the strict code of dress imposed by I SIS, which forced women to cover their faces and wear long dresses.
The survivors were filmed enjoying their release, which came with the help of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces.
A woman said crying: “Give me the match. I'm gonna burn this. Damn these clothes that forced us to wear”.
