According to him, Vuciqi's statement of historic agreements between the two countries is the first step towards abandoning the illusion that Kosovo is a province of the Serbian state.
“Since the Milosevic regime created the crisis in Kosovo with the violent overthrow of constitutional autonomy in 1989, and the Serbian public said that Kosovo is Serbia, Vuciqi's recent public presentation is the first step towards abandoning that” illusion, Vlases has told Serbian media.
He says it is now time for an agreement between the two countries, which must be finalised with mutual recognition.
According to Vlases, Kosovo has been independent since 1999.
