Better treatment required for Kosovars in Albania

Kosovo's Economic Oda has indicated that the problems the tourist companies recently faced in Durres have already been overcome. OEK Mayor Safet Gerjaliu, at a news conference, has said the problems Kosovo tourists in Albania have faced are the result of the dispute with Albania and [...]
“should advance more constructive dialogue in relation to economic co-operation with Albania. Challenges and such challenges, even with the export of products from Kosovo even with services but now with visitors, are happening chronologically. I believe that Kosovo deserves a more specific treatment, this is based on the fact that we are two states of a divided people and if these challenges follow us then what the future will be in our direction towards our European family”, Gerxhaliu said.
He has said that since Albania benefits about 500m euros annually from Kosovo tourists, it should best address and respect.
While the chairman of the Tourism Association, Ruzhdi Kurtishaj, has said they have met with representatives of the city of Durres, and that they have been promised that such a problem will not be repeated.
This was due to the nondialog of associations that acted earlier. From today all Kosovo buses are welcomed by the city and by the citizens of Durres”, Curtisaj said.
Days ago the Durres Community decided that buses from Kosovo would not allow them to cross the “Independence” street, which leads to the beach.
And that led to various reactions, sharply criticising local authorities for this decision, which was seen as ignoring Kosovo tourists.
