The European Union has banned exports of rubber boats to Libya as part of efforts to end illegal immigration. The decision was made by the foreign ministers of member states with the reasoning that these types of boats are widely used by traffickers to transport refugees. However, it is explained that licensed companies will not be affected by this measure.
Foreign ministers of EU member states have recently made the decision to ban the sale of rubber boats in Libya because the latter are widely used by traffickers to transport migrants to Europe's coast.
The news has been confirmed on official roads, while it becomes known that restrictions will not be applicable to licensed Libyan companies dealing with business excises such as fishing or legal transportation of persons and goods.
It is still not known whether the European Union will create a controlling system to prevent boats from falling into the wrong hands of the transficents, so that the dawning of the strategy to combat this phenomenon will soon be made.
The recently taken decision is part of a major EU action to prevent illegal immigration.
Since the beginning of the year until now, an estimated 88 thousand asylum seekers have arrived on the coast of Italy, where nearly a quarter of them have arrived during June alone.
Disturbing figures have led Italy to openly express dissatisfaction with other European partners.
According to the government of Rome, Italian authorities are facing almost alone the crisis while demanding a fair separation of responsibilities.
