Number of trafficked people remains disturbing in the country

Trafficking in people remains a disturbing phenomenon for Kosovo based on statistics, which show this phenomenon is marking growth year-on-year.
Despite the work of institutions, human trafficking is continuing, with the main form being the use of women for prostitution to others.
The Directorate for Trafficking in Human Being Investigation for just six months of this year has identified a total of 16 victims, of them 15 Kosovo citizens, while 1 from Albania.
The people arrested for these months total 97 people.
Even last year this phenomenon has been with high statistics.
The number of trafficked victims has been 36, out of them 32 citizens of Kosovo and 4 of Albania.
Of them, for the use of prostitution, the number of women has been 26 that presents a high statistical for this type of trafficking.

In connection with these cases, Kosovo Police have arrested 202 people.
