The European Union today held unusual prayers for former German cascellari, Helmut Kohl, who died on 16 July at the age of 87, with a ceremony organised at European Parliament facilities in Strasbourg.
More than 40 delegations arrived today in Strasbur to pay their respects. Most European leaders were also present.
Present were British Theresa May, while the US has sent former President Bill Clinton and Russian delegation headed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and other world and European leaders.
After the homing ceremony, the body of the former kancelar is transported to Spire, Germany, where it will be buried. His wife has refused national funerals, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
