Which state strips Albanian politician's citizenship

The Greek state has decided to abolish the citizenship of current Himara Mayor George Goro.

The decision is signed by Greek Interior Minister Panos Skurletis, while it is also published in the official notebook.

Official Athens says the decision is based on Article 17 of the citizenship law, under which Greek citizenship is lifted in cases where the person living in a foreign country acts in favor of that country and against Greece's interests.

Sources say the known “decision has been influenced by the decision The Himara Lobi”, an extremist current that opposes equal dialogue between the two sovereign countries and urging Athens to maintain radical positions on bilateral issues.
