Special Court Chairman Ecatarita Trandafilova has for the first time indicated which police will carry out the arrests of indictees from Kosovo's Specialised Chambers.
Trandafilova, in an interview published Thursday, has said Kosovo police will deal with the arrest and conduct of the Special Court of those wanted from these specialised rooms.
She has stressed that such a thing is regulated by law, but that if necessary, the Special Court may also require international co-operation.
As envisioned in the Law, we can rely on the Kosovo Police as well as any Kosovo court. Also, the Specialised Prosecutor may apply his orders through a police force within his office. Any order and decision of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers, including sequential checks and arrests of suspects on Kosovo territory, must be implemented. The Law dictates this. Also, if necessary, we can seek international co-operation”, the head of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers, Ekataria Trendafilova, has declared.
In the interview in question, Judge Trendafilova has also stated that the Special Court she leads, accused persons will ensure fair and swift judgment.
