The Special Court will broadcast live court hearings to former KLA members who could be invited from this court as war crimes suspects.
Kosovo's Specialised Chambers are totally committed to an adequate public briefing on procedures, both via the media and directly, said in a response to this institution given to Indexline.
“We target higher transparency standards in line with human rights principles and with the Law for Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office. All public statements of the parties and judges are found and will continue to be found on our Web site and translated at”, said the Special Court's response.
Moreover, with the launch of court hearings, they will be broadcast generally via the tribunal's Web site in all three official languages (Albanian, Serbian, and English).
“This will be the way of action unless for certain parts during the proceedings, a court decides to hold closed-door hearings in line with the Procedure and Evidence Order. Such an approach to our written and oral procedures will enable the media and generally the public to convey our procedures directly”, it says in response.
Also, for interested journalists and the public in general, there will be the possibility of direct conveying the trials from the gallery to the public or recording direct transmission from the courtroom.
“Are currently considering practical details that will be made public when oral sessions” start, the tribunal's specialised chamber office response reported.
