Whether the participation of the Serbian List in the coming Government of Kosovo will depend on meeting the requirements of this political subject, says Serbian List Media Relations Office chief Igor Sibiu.
In a conversation with Radio Free Europe, he stressed that the Serbian List, which as representative of the Serb community has won 9 seats in the Kosovo Assembly, is willing to negotiate and co-operate with all those political subjects representing the Albanian majority and willing to approach the Serb community's unresolved problems.
However, Simi says, so far, the Serbian List has not held any talks with the Albanian majority's parliamentary political subjects about the eventual possibilities of entering any coalition aimed at forming the new government.
And as far as I know, I think I'm quite informed, so far there hasn't been any formal or informal talks. We're open to negotiations, but what we're looking for is at the table and we're going to be guided by this alone. The period when Serbian representatives are lying in Pristina is over. We cannot choose who will be in the new government, but we can choose whether we will be in that government or not”, Si enemies said.
He adds that the Serbian List will not assess Albanian political parties on what they have said during the election campaign, but relations with them will depend on what their approach to Serbs and their representatives will be. According to him, the Serbian List does not care what the number of ministries or other jobs with executive competence will be, but only concrete solutions that would facilitate the lives of Kosovo Serbs.
The formation of the Association of Serb-run municipalities, as Sibiu says, remains the main condition for the entry of representatives of the Serbian List into the country's new government. According to him, there are also a large number of requests stemming from the problems Kosovo Serbs have, such as the supply of medicine and medical supplies, especially in northern Kosovo, as well as the supply of textbooks and other documents, which he says have often been banned at border crossings.
The union of Serbian municipalities is the crown of all our demands, from which we will not withdraw a millimeter. Representatives of the Government of Serbia and the negotiating team have repeated several times that this is inevitable for any agreement. That's also true of us”.
All decisions, we'll make deals with Belgrade, and we're not out of this. We are willing to talk, share responsibility for various decisions, but we are not willing to review any agreement that has been reached in Brussels, as it is for the Serb majority municipality community, which will have to improve the lives of citizens in this area of”, S individual said.
Kosovo's constitution guarantees the communities' minority representation in the Government of Kosovo, but Situate says it is a nominal solution and that the Serbian List, which represents the Serb community, is not targeting and will not enter the new government at any cost. / REL
