Russian investigators have raided the opposition leader's office in Moscow, Alexei Navajo, the day before he is released from prison, several activists have said.
According to them, 10 police officials have confiscated some computer and campaign material from offices.
“Material at Moscow headquarters has been confiscated”, announced on Facebook, the co-ordinator of the company office, Nikolai Lyaskin. The police have not commented on these reports.
Navalny's ally, Leonid Volkov, has said authorities are raiding offices in other cities in Russia, confiscating campaign material. Navalny aims to run for the position of Russia's president in March 2018, although Vladimir Putin, is expected to be for a term in this position as well, follows. REL.
Russian officials have banned Navalny from participating in the election, citing a criminal sentence. Navajo has said the sentence has been politically motivated to block his candidacy.
Navalny, who has staged several anti-government protests, is expected to be released from prison on July 7th.
