The prisoner at the Dubrava Correcting Centre, the ghetto Mulliqaj, is suspected to have been physically beaten by correcting officers from the centre. Sources within this correctional centre have made known to “Justice Vow” that this beating allegedly occurred a week ago, on 16 July respectively.
Contacted by “Justice Vow”, Dubrava Correctional Centre Director-in-Chief Director-in-chief Office Imeraj has indicated that there has been a complaint by prisoner Getar Mullijaj that force has been used to him. According to her, the Kosovo Correcting Service has immediately established an internal commission for investigating this case.
The subx0> Commission on the actual database, including medical documentation and officer statements, has found no evidence that force to the prisoners has been used, says Imeraj's response.
Imeraj stated that under the investigative commission, there is no evidence beyond suspicion that power has been used to prisoners.
In this case, Regional Police Directorate in Pec spokesman Xhevat Ibra has confirmed that police are dealing with the case, but have refused to provide additional information, with the argument that the same should be taken from the Kosovo Correcting Service.
