Printing overloaded by fiscal policies is at risk of eliminating this event

Kosovo's printing activity is overloaded in recent years by customs taxes and the State Value Tax (TVSH) for the first production subject. These taxes applied by the state have caused many printeries in Pristina to disappear. Printing owner “Lena Graphic” Hajdar Feyzullahu shows that fiscal policies have been overloaded [...]
Printer owner “Lina Graphic” Hajdar Feyzullahu, shows that fiscal policies have overestimated his activity and are struggling to survive with this kind of business, while authorities of surrounding states have released all printing presses from customs and VAT fees.
It shows that after the war there were about 80 printeries in Pristina alone, while currently there are no more than 12-13.
Fyzullahu in an interview for Kosova Preiss says that even the circulation of books has dropped about 70 per cent, which according to him, is tragic.
The “The work of the book is an art job and I love this profession, but the difficulties that are recently being presented to us are more fiscal, customs and TVS policies that charge the book, these are making themselves. So a lot that feels really bad when I see them falling out of the system day. The reasons we've researched with colleagues and friends, where we have evidence that the surrounding states don't pay customs fees for paper at all, nor do TVs within states have it in books and newspapers. And we're being overworked, and we're getting a little bit more expensive than the states around”, Fyzulah stressed.
It requires Kosovo authorities or institutions to create facilities for the event, enabling bookmakers to be cheaper on the market. He called on willing bodies to be treated as producers by the state to be even competitive on the regional market.
Feyzullahu, who has 40-year experience in graphic work, is expressing disappointment at the unfriendly conditions the state is offering in his daily work, says at prices he is failing to be competitive with the countries of the region.
He has shown that there has been an offer by a company from England sometime in 2009 worth 7m euros for printing a book, where they were competitive and producers from Macedonia, but unfortunately “Lena Guffif” has proved 12-13 per cent more expensive than printing from Macedonia and has won the offer of a producer from this neighbouring state.
Feyzulah also stated that no further than seven months ago, there had been another offer from a German association for 300 thousand copies, but he had failed to reach a price with very reasonable conditions.
Fiscal policies are falling into a position today not very good for printing. It would have been good for our country to do something about it, to get rid of it by enabling the creators and the book to be as cheap as possible on the market that even our creators don't be disappointed in prices, because they also complain that we are expensive, and we barely survive. Amazingly, the book is not also treated as production, which is ridiculous”, he stressed.
Fejzullahu said that in many developed states where printing presses are inspired is rewarded by municipalities, because they perform a sacred job, so this does not happen in Kosovo. He also said that with printing press, they have co-operation and contacts, which face many peripherys ready as printers. Because the book on the market is not sold, the cost is high. Therefore, Fysul God says that they are more helpful to each other than to stay alive.
“Work would have had as if we were free from customs and TVS on paper, because we would be competitive in the market because we have the cheaper workforce in Kosovo”, he said.
He adds that the state should deal with this problem because the book is preventative of the curse of language and does not see a good future without a book in a people.
Among other problems and difficulties, Feyzullahu has to have at least four people who specialize in the task, starting with the montage, designer and master who made the book's connection.
He has reiterated that the book has a high cost of production, and printers are not being hired as producers.
Otherwise, “Lina Graphic” offers high quality services at speed, high technology, correction and capacity to up to 400 copies.
Hajdar Feyzullahu has been engaged in this event for some 40 years, except that he has passion, is also educated for this graph, which ten years of work experience had in “Renaissance” from 1980 to 1990 when the violent measures were put off at the time.
