The Polish government's decision has been rejected by environmental groups and the European Court of Justice, but despite all of that, logging will continue.
The reason for cutting forests, according to Polish authorities, is necessary to stop “aphana” caused by pests because of the age of trees.
Otherwise, the Bialowiseza Forest is home to European bison and 20,000 other types of wildlife, Kosovas Press reports.
