Petersen: Kosovo to change political class

Former Kosovo Prime Minister Soren Jessen-Petersen, during an exclusive interview with the newspaper “Voice” says Kosovo citizens in the June 11th elections voted for changes. According to him, the time has come for the country to change the political class, or the latter to change its priorities. He is, however, happy that Kosovo is [...]
Soren Jessen-Petersen has been Kosovo's chief administrator at the time when Ramush Haradinaj was first elected prime minister of the country in a coalition with former President Ibrahim Rugova's party. Thirteen years after Haradinaj is again the most coveted name for the head of government, while the former chief of staff UNMIK now does not want to talk much about Haradinaj's figure, but says it is time for Kosovo to change the political class, or the latter to change its priorities.
These comments were made by Jessen-Petersen during an exclusive interview with the newspaper “Voice”, adding that he is sorry and that he is very disappointed that even 10 years after independence still spoke of the same problems: Corruption, rule of law, unemployment, etc.
Speaking of Demarkation and Association, the Danish diplomat says Kosovo should listen to the US for the Border Agreement with Montenegro, while the Association says it has clarified former President Martti Ahtisaari very well in its Plan for Kosovo.
During this interview with “Zerin” he has also spoken of the launch of the Special Court's work, where he has acknowledged that the establishment of charges on its part could cause tensions in the country, but the Court's decisions must be accepted by a democratic state.
Petersen, currently a professor at the University of Bologna “John Hopkins”, says Kosovo should now form a stable Government, which will eventually work for the interest of its citizens and not for personal and party interest.
