North Korea claims to have carried out its first successful test of a long-range missile that says it could be “arriate anywhere in the world”.
The missile test Tuesday morning, which was carried out on the orders of the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, reached a height of 2,802km, according to state broadcaster Korea Central Television (KCTV).
This is the highest altitude achieved by a North Korean missile and puts the US in doubt that Pyongyang could potentially hit the US continent, the Periscope broadcast.
The regime appears to have set the time for maximum political effect, giving orders to test this missile on the eve of the 4 July holiday, a few days after US President Donald Trump spoke to Japanese and Chinese leaders about the threat of North Korea and before the G20 meeting to be held this week. /Periscopi/
