Mustafa: Sʹna sways no international demand, no coalition with PDK

The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) -- at the same time prime minister in office, Isa Mustafa -- has said the process of the June 11th election has been fair, where all political subjects in general have respected democratic norms and criteria.

Mustafa has stressed that election results are not what he expected LDK.

In an interview given to the newspaper “The new age”, he has stated that the vote in this election was more controversial than the assessment of what was worked during his rule.

Mustafa has said there are no winners in the June 11th elections, losers. If there were winners, the winner would make a stable government, with a stable majority”, Mustafa said. The LDK leader has reiterated that this party will not coalition with the PDK.

He has stressed that the LDK with its partners, the AKR and the Alternative, have clearly indicated that they do not make arrangements for co-governance with the PDK, so neither with the coalition where it is and which the PDK heads. He says he has even informed international friends of this stance.

Mustafa has made it clear that no messages and no international demand can shake him or the LDK in position as far as future co-operation with the PDK is concerned. “The LDK has shown its maturity. With the internationals we made the solution in 2014 following the Constitutional Court's decision. As prime minister and leader of the LDK, I have made it clear to the internationals that if the PDK makes unilateral actions, we will cut off co-operation with them. We have fulfilled our vow. No international message or request will sway me or LDK”, Mustafa has declared.

Asked whether deputies from the LDK-AKR-Alternative coalition can individually vote on the Haradinaj Government, Mustafa has said that “fishery”, smuggling, buying MPs are no solution or alternative to a government. A government built with such forms does not deserve to be treated as such, because it turns out to be a government of frauds. I don't think it's a con. I don't believe that either AKR has frauds: Mustafa said.

He has said he is willing to meet with Ramush Haradinaj to talk about forming the government, but there is a condition for that. Any moment that Mr. Haradinaj will not be part of the agreement with the PDK, we can talk about the possibilities of co-government. But not as far as Mr. Haradinaj speaks on behalf of a coalition headed by PDK”, the LDK leader has indicated.

Mustafa has expressed open co-operation for the establishment of institutions with Vetevendosje Movement! , AAK and Initiative.

If we don't find understanding with the VV, AAK and Initiative, for governance with programming responsibilities of the LDK, we will use parliamentary space to serve the country”, Mustafa has declared, adding that harmonising a programme that conforms to the idea of a democratic, market economy, oriented towards the European Union, in strong friendship with the US and building the rule of law is necessary.
