President Donald Trump's son said he had not told his father about a meeting he held with a Russian lawyer who claimed he could help in the election campaign.
In an interview for “Fox News”, Donald Trump, Jr., said the meeting had no value, but he should have managed the situation differently. He also showed an e-mail where he accepted the offer to meet with lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, who reportedly was related to the Kremlin and could provide damaging materials to Hillary Clinton.
Currently, American authorities are investigating Russian intervention in American elections and after months of denial, the Trump team is forced to admit that one of them had contacts with the Russians, regardless of what was discussed at the meeting or how important it was. Trump, Jr., sometimes stressed that he had not told his father about the meeting, which he believed was a waste of time. Donald Trump, Jr., even said that if the media did not publish it, they would not even remember meeting with the Russian lawyer.
According to the president's son, the meeting was organised by publicist Rob Goldstone, who promised documents from Russia, even from the Russian government that would incriminate Clinton. But after a few minutes at the meeting, Trump, Jr., said he realized that there was no value at all and that his purpose was not to harm Clinton, but perhaps just to remind the president now.
Although each member of the meeting has denied its importance, including the Russian lawyer, the US Democrats think this issue should be investigated and the people in question appear before the Intelligence Committee. / Top Channel
