Albanian-American Martin Shkreli risks 20 years in prison while facing charges of fraud of valuable letters.
The 34-year-old entrepreneur gained world fame in 2015, when he bought commercial rights and then mercilessly raised the cost of Daraprim, an anti-advisor A IDS. Since then, he has maintained his reputation with a provocative presence in social media.
As closed arguments at the federal court in Brooklyn, New York, Shkreli, known as the “most hated man in America”, was indicted by prosecutors after saying “lied on lies” to investors and referring to himself as a man “over the” law, writes “Gardian”.
Shkrell's lawyer told the jury that his client was a genius.
In the terminology that reminds one of his idols, Donald Trump, Shkrely used Facebook to show his fans that he was the victim of a <x0 magicians's <x0nd trial”.
The document was arrested in December 2015. He has been accused of running businesses in the style of pyramid schemes or Ponzi, misleading investors after using their capital to pay others and resolve personal debts. Then he was not found guilty.
