We have a candidate and he comes from the former opposition. Our commitment is to make this candidate the next prime minister of Kosovo”, he stresses.

In this interview, Fatmir Limaj speaks and about the bids his party, the initiative, has received from the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Vetevendosje Movement.

Radio Free Europe: Mr Limaj, the Central Election Commission has made the Certificate of the results of the June 11th elections. When is the formation of the Assembly and the New Government expected?

Fatmir Limaj: I believe that now, after the certificate of results, the legal deadlines begin, and we must all act according to legal terms. Of course, 30 days now remain after the certificate of election results, for Kosovo's Assembly to be introduced and then the next deadline for the mandate to form a majority in the Kosovo Assembly.

So, I wait within this month with optimism, I would say, if we don't have trouble on the road, I expect that within this month Kosovo will have central institutions, so also the Parliament and Government.

Radio Free Europe: Has the candidate arrived? PAN for prime minister, Ramush Haradinaj to secure votes for forming government?

Fatmir Limaj: In respect of official procedures and communication, we must be careful and take steps properly and as the law requires. By Saturday, the opportunity to extend invitations to all political groups has been officially opened to invite in partnership and take responsibility in future governance.

There's enough time for our candidate to hold these consultations and talks, and I expect that on the day of the Parliament's institution, we will have the parliamentary majority. The signals are positive and I expect that to happen.

Radio Free Europe: You don't know if you have enough votes to vote on Government. Mr Haradinaj has confirmed that he has votes?

Fatmir Limaj: What I'm saying is we're negotiating. I think right now it wouldn't be right to open up all those talks that have been held and are under way. What I can say is that talks are officially opened on Saturday, and I expect and am confident that Kosovo will have Government very soon. We will have the majority, and Kosovo's next prime minister will be Mr. Haradinaj.

Radio Free Europe: The LDK has proposed that, together with the AAK and the Initiative party, the future government will be formed, but without the PDK. Are you ready for this option?

Fatmir Limaj: I understand, or better say I understand the LDK's position in relation to the Democratic Party, because of their past. What we're working on today and you're focused on is one thing, that this coalition that has emerged first in the past elections, so in the elections we left behind, to win the mandate and mandate to create Government.

This is our focus, so with Mr Haradinaj prime minister. This is our commitment and nothing else at all on our table or our priority at this moment.

Radio Free Europe: Even the Vetevendosje Movement has called on the public for co-operation and coalition. What is your position about Vetevendosje's bid?

Fatmir Limaj: Same thing, we have a candidate and he comes from the former ward. Our candidate has emerged from a coalition that has received the most votes in this country.

Our commitment is that this candidate will also be Kosovo's next prime minister. All political factors in this country should provide their assistance and take responsibility and be part of this partnership, so that Kosovo will soon have Government and at the head of the government will be the candidate who has emerged from the winning coalition, Mr Haradinaj.

Radio Free Europe: Mr Limaj, you're not somewhat expressing enthusiasm for the rapid formation of the government. What are your predictions if the government cannot be created by the PAN?

Fatmir Limaj: We have a political attitude that should be careful about the fact that we have authorized our mandate on behalf of our coalition for the conversations that develops them, and has full authorization. That's why we don't step in front of our candidate.

It's the candidate that represents the position on behalf of the coalition. He holds talks on staying behind all bids, commitments he made to create the majority. Of course, we as his partner, we help him, but Mr. Haradinaj is the one who has received the authorization to lead these talks and I think he is competent in this matter, because he has authorization.

What I can say is that the PAN will have Government and I don't see any other possibility. If you look at the election results, all of this leads, there is no other way but for Mr. Haradinaj to be prime minister, and I had not already entered the area of speculation.

We are in the initial phase of consulting and starting majority creation. Remember that this coalition does not need much votes to have a majority or an opportunity to vote on Government, and for now our commitment is to make it happen.

Radio Free Europe: The Kosovo initiative as a political subject from the June 11th elections has seen growth. What can your subject offer in the country's positive changes?

Fatmir Limaj: I believe the Initiative will be an added value. We as a political subject have already been posted on the Kosovo political scene and as a position, our vision has been respected by political rivals, but even allies well know that as a political group or political party, we are correct with our positions, whether in agreement or in our principles.

We say things openly and what the Initiative promotes is the complete change in government. We expect a reformist government. We expect a prime minister who changes the governing mentality. We expect a Government with radical changes, as Kosovo citizens expect. We are convinced that the citizens of this country have voted for change.

Future Prime Minister Haradinaj must read this message, and I am convinced that he has read it. His government must present changes, his government should be the Reformer Government.

We as a political subject, in this government, are going to play this very role, have complete change, have a reformist Government, and the governing mentality be different from what has been for the past three years or more.
