Kurti: Thaci and Vucinqi represent, not state interests, but the interests of their mob brothers

The nominated for prime minister from the Vetevendosje Movement ranks, Albin Kurti, in a conversation for the Serbian daily “Danas”, has said President Hashim Thaci, in the parliamentary elections, is trying to compensate for the lack of civic legitimacy “from below” and international legitimacy “from top”. All of this, according to Kurti, behind the debakli who has suffered his party, even though Thaci is no longer part of any party, due to the constitutional obligation as president of the country.

Kosovo's founder and candidate for prime minister, commenting on yesterday's informal meeting of Serbian and Kosovo President Aleksandar Vuciq and Hashim Thaci in Brussels with senior EU representative Federica Moghrini said both do not represent their states, but their brothers' interests, which they say have become millionaires.

“Who knows, perhaps in the margins of meeting with Vuciq in Brussels, nobody represents Kosovo and Serbia, but their brothers, who have become rich of the Balkan mafia, and thus can form a new co-operation”, Kurti stressed, writes Periscopi.

“Danas” asks Kurti: Some media in Pristina claim agreement was reached on forming a new government and that Ramush Haradinaj will be the new prime minister. Are these claims true?

Kurti: First, this will be a continuation of the old regime against the will of the people of Kosovo, who voted for change. Second, if the new parliamentary majority directly depends on the Serbian List and Vuciq then this government will have the two main cities -- Pristina and Belgrade -- as well as then Kosovo will be in an incredible political crisis unprecedented since the post-war period. The Vetevendosje movement is already the largest political party in Kosovo. We believe that this great hope of citizens, after the return of courage, should be crowned not only with a new parliament, but also with the new government led by Vetevendosje, as a Social Democrat party.

Asked which political parties the Vetevendosje Movement is ready to form the ruling coalition, Kurti responded to “in the first place we will discuss with the coalition parties consisting of the LDK and AKR”.

While, in connection with the Serbian “List”, Albin Kurti said that “unfortunately, the Serbian List is the protracted arm of Serbia's authorities. She is committed to Belgrade's interests, as well as to the deformation of the will of Kosovo Serbs. Serbs from Kosovo must represent themselves. They are entitled to a decent life in the Republic of Kosovo. Open and democratic dialogue with them will be our priority. We also need social integration of minority communities through development and equality and not just institutional integration. ”

Kurti thinks the so-called dialogue with Belgrade in Brussels has set no conditions for Serbia, “but has been talked about Kosovo's internal affairs”.

Therefore, the result could be correct. Then why didn't they even talk about Presevo, Medvedja Busanocine: In principle, we are not against dialogue, but we are against principleless dialogue, which Kosovo has turned into a topic which Serbia” appoints, it has clarified.

Asked whether he would be willing to visit Belgrade in case he becomes prime minister, Kurti has said that “I am new to say "currence," but also too mature to expect any benefit from this”. /Periscopi/
