State officials of the Republic of Kosovo have made all necessary preparations in order for Kosovo to be an Interpol member this year.
Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Skender Hyseni hopes our country will receive the support needed to join Interpol, however, acknowledges that there will be major challenges in this process.
And media in Belgrade have reported that the Serbian state has already formed state mechanisms in order to prevent Kosovo's path towards membership in Interpol.
As reported, Serbian officials expect the help of Russia, China, and African states for this obstacle.
Whatever the case, Kosovo has already made all preparations for membership in Interpol, RTK reports.
According to Hyseni, it is continuing to be worked on identifying countries for lobbi, in order that our state in September of this year will be Interpol's newest member.
The Republic of Kosovo needs two-thirds of the votes of the states present at the Interpol General Assembly to be held in Beijing. /rtk/
