“We will react and request announcements and evaluate that this is illegal because children represent individuals who during their development must decide whether they want to practice any religion or not. According to the Helsinki Committee's views, the so far approach to these cases is that children need to learn about different religions, but this does not represent their religious indoculation. They must have knowledge that they can recognize the religion of a friend sitting next to him, belonging to another ethnic community but not to be indoctrination to become part of a certain religion or religion”, said Uraniya Pirovska, the Helsinki Committee.
Meanwhile, representatives of the ombudsman's office today have come to the field to examine what specifically is done in the children's garden “BLETA” This institution even demands responsibility for those who allowed its existence.
It is a fact that our system does not know the existence of religious gardens, and the way it works is contrary to the Constitution and the Law for Child Protection and the Convention on Child Rights, and from this very aspect we will fully investigate this action. The Child Protective League clearly envisions what children's garden is and what activity it does. It's about activities that are of public interest and, among other things, strictly prohibits the misuse of children for religious purposes. It's about illegal and contrary to the Law and Constitution, and we will monitor the action of responsible institutions, all in the interest of children and protection of their rights”, said Vaska Bajramovska Mustafa, the ombudsman.
The Bee Garden has been operating since 2014. In addition to educational activities in this garden, Islamic religious rituals, such as prayer, Koran singing, and Hagi practices are also taught.
