Germany and France fully back the European Union's special representative decision in Kosovo for the suspension of financial support of 7.8m euros for northern Mitrovica for the cultural centre building project and the new university building project.
“Actually, the EU office stresses that local authorities did not comply with the conditions agreed on mutually, the removal of construction without permission and free access to all the workplace”, said a joint communique of the embassy of France and Germany.
As stated in the communique the use of EU funds provided for the benefit of the local population should be transparent and supervised, also meeting the conditions set out in the contract between the Mitrovica municipality and the EU Office.
