The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called Turkey's ambassador to Berlin today following Ankara's arrest the day before by a German human rights activist.
The ministry announced that German diplomacy chief Sigmar Gabriel has stopped vacationing and that it would hold urgent talks tomorrow morning about actions and measures to be taken on the intensifying plan of Turkish depression acts.
“It is necessary that the Turkish government immediately and directly take into consideration the indignation and misunderstanding of the German government, as well as our very clear expectations regarding the case of Peter Steudtner, and this time without diplomatic interference”, said German Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Martin Schäfer.
