Protests were organised in Gaza in support of Palestinians in Israeli prisons, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
In the protest organised by relatives of prisoners, protesters gathered outside the Red Cross International Committee office, where they urged the international community to take precautions “for the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons”.
Protesters in their hands carried photos of their relatives and condemned the international community's silence against Palestinian rights violations in Israeli prisons.
Palestinian mother Faize Abu Mukbez, whose son has been sentenced to 19 years in prison, in a statement to AA said that for protecting Palestinian prisoners' rights and improving living conditions, protests will be organised every week in front of the Red Cross building.
Remembering that her son stays in prison for 11 years, Faize says that “they won't let me visit my son. Our relatives in prisons are being kept away from their families for years, with unbased claims and reasoning”.
According to reports by Palestinian officials, there are about 7 thousand Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.
