The large number of students in Fushe Kosovo has made the decision to build even a school near “-complex 300” in the neighbourhood “Dagnia”.
But the construction of this facility is opposed to the inhabitants of this neighborhood.
For this they have begun collecting signatures to oppose building the school.
The initiator of this petition, Veton Jusuf, told Kosovo Press via the phone that they are not against building the school, but are against the location of where the school is set to be built.
We're not against the school, but we're against the location that's taking out the whole space, most are about changing the location, not when it's done, but a little bit higher, they're going to tell me there's a little bit more room to go just don't get the space from”
Regarding citizens' opposition to school works, Kosovo's Fushe municipality information official Ali Topalli said that citizens are not opposed to building the school, but they are against the location where the object is being built.
He said that the municipality has no ideal areas for building the school, so it is decided that the object will be built on that public property.
Topalli for Kosova Preiss said they are obliged to build this school because of the large number of students at primary school “Mihal Grameno”.
The frustration of building the school has also been shown by the resident of this neighbourhood, Kimete Ahmeti, who for Kosova Prees, said she opposes building the school's facility in this area because they are taking away their greenery, and thus harming the 300 apartment infrastructure in this neighborhood.
The school's construction in this municipality has also welcomed the school's education director, Islam Shabani, who told Kosovo that school building will undoubtedly affect the quality of learning for the fact that primary school “Mihal Grameno” works in three shifts and the number of students in one classroom reaches up to 47 students.
Construction of this school is financed by the municipality of Fushe-Kosovo, and works under the previous plan are expected to be completed in a year.
