Kosovo Assembly elected MP Fraser Krasniqi says he has asked his subject judge to allow him to attend the Assembly Constituent session, called for August 3rd.
Krasniqi has been elected MP in the June 11th election from the Vetevendosje Movement candidate list, but now several months ago is under house arrest because he is accused of terrorism as suspected of attacking explosive vehicles at the Assembly building in August last year.
Krasniqi told KALLXO.com that he has sought permission from the case judge, Becir Kaluldra, to attend the Parliament's constitutional session.
I have submitted my request to the Constitutional Court today to attend the Kosovo Assembly Constituent session, as well as to register as deputy. I specifically addressed the request to the chairman of the court in our case, Judge Bekir Kaluldra”, Krasniqi said.
But Judge Kaluldra told KALLXO.com he has not received any requests from the MP.
I haven't got any requests yet. I don't know”, Judge Calluldra said briefly.
Starting today and Friday, MPs have been summoned to the House of Recruitment facilities.
Frasher Krasniqi says his participation in the Assembly sessions and meetings is “fair and constitutional obligation”.
The Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo guarantees MPs the right to participate in the Assembly, and rather owes them to do so. In this context the eventual denial of my right to participation in the Assembly would constitute violations of the Constitution, which oversteps any law or judicial decision within the Republic of Kosovo”, he said.
My “election as an MP represents the will of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, which would have to be the basis of decisions of the justice system. The eventual denial of my participation would also constitute violations of the will of Kosovo citizens”, Krasniqi said.
