Fatmir Limaj to pass half of September to Court

In the process, Fatmir Limaj is accused of organised crime and abuse of office, dates of the following months have been set for maintaining the judicial process.

Almost half of September is envisioned for Fatmir Limaj, along with the other 4 people he is charged with, to be brought to court to face prosecution charges in the judicial process, which is now continuing for eight years.

5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, and 28 July are the dates of sessions scheduled by the court consisting of two international judges and a local.

And for that decision, the defence attorneys reacted, who said that they have other scheduled sessions on different occasions in some of these days.

“Speed up, but not leave the prosecution with unnecessary things”, Limaj's defence lawyer, Tahir Rrecaj said.

And you've been overloading us, we've had an agreement to have 5-6 sessions within the month, because we lawyers have other times”, he added.

Also, Blerim Prestreshi, the lawyer of accused Florim Zuka on behalf of his client, demanded that the trial not be held on July 18th for the sake of a family party where the country's traditions will be applied.

For July 18th, my client has a family party -- it's about marrying a nephew with family communities. Our habits require that family parties be present from morning to evening. Kindly request that you respect our customs and that 18 not be held session”, Prestreshi said.

That request was immediately rejected by Judge Tuma, though she said she respects the country's traditions.

The decision again reacted to the lawyer Prestreshi, who said “would be very inappropriate for a family member to be in court on a day like that”.

Again, there was a replica of the judge who did not change her decision.

The session for July 18th was set long ago, if it's so important to be present at the party then let them keep it on a different date”, Tuma said.

During the hearing, prosecutor Hardaway announced that 26 people are expected to testify, but the same warned revision of the list, with which case it is expected to reduce the number to 18 witnesses.

Among these witnesses, it was announced there will be potential international witnesses to whom the court will be informed.

Further, Ali Ali continued his testimony.

As soon as the questioning began by prosecutor Hardaway, the accused Limaj reacted to the prosecutor's questions, claiming he is referring to evidence that has been declared unacceptable.

The prosecutor has begun to refer to announced evidence not acceptable to the court's ruling. The prosecutor closes and removes all unacceptable evidence since, with the court's ruling of all talks after April 6th 2008, they are unacceptable because they have not applied for continuing the hidden measures”, Limaj said.

But the session was interrupted because the presence of a jury member, Isuf Makolli, was requested in another case as week's caretaker.

So in the next trial, it's going to continue with the witness questioning again.

In this trial, Fatmir Limaj is accused of organised crime and abuse of office.

In the same process as Limaj and on similar charges by Kosovo Special Prosecutor Nexhat Krasniqi and Andrew Shala are charged. Part of the trial is Telaku Rescue and Florim Zuka.

The indictment against Limaj relates to road maintenance tenders in the municipality of Gjilan.

Limaj this indictment, which from EULEX, is called a consolidated after MTPT 1 and MTPT cases have joined, on October 30th 2015, it was named by political order.
