EU Ambassador to Macedonia Samuel Zbogar expects support from all political subjects about adopting the Law for Use of Albanian Language. He also says he expects the Albanian community to show understanding about the positions of the other side.
This is the issue of great importance for the Albanian community in your country because this community feels that with the adoption of this law implementation of the Ohrid Agreement will be complete. If ethnic communities try to be heard among themselves because someone needs or requires certain rights to be realised, the same is true of the Albanian community to hear the other side of their stances. I think that if there is a similar approach on all sides in the end the solution will be supported equally by all parties”, said Samuel Zbogar, the EU ambassador.
Zbogar is optimistic that despite the slow work of the Parliament, however, it will not come to the deadlock or prolonging of reforms warned by the government plan 3-6-9, which includes Albanian.
So far I think the Assembly works well. I'm not worried about the concrete implementation of plan 3-6-9 and I don't think we should be worried about this. But what we care about is that the problem has never been related to the adoption of new legislation, but with its implementation”, said Samuel Zbogar, the EU ambassador.
Zbogar made these comments during his visit to Struga, where with Chairman Mustafa Zabzun discussed financial problems, deportation, city depot, and interethnic relations in this municipality.
