EU Office cancels 7.8m-euro projects in the north

The portal that reports about the Western Balkans “European Western Balkans” has written that according to the EU, the project that has been cancelled has been extremely important to advance the educational-cultural sector in northern Mitrovica.

There, it is stressed that “The EU, which contributes almost 100m euros annually to Kosovo, remains committed to working closely with Kosovo authorities to invest in Kosovo in the field of education, culture, law and order, as well as economic development”.
According to the article, the EU has contributed to all areas in Kosovo, the same as for all communities, including 38.5m euros for Kosovo's north alone, which have gone to cultural centres, construction of the northern Mitrovica municipality, university building, then the Zvecan sports centre, the children's nest in Leposaviq, extending new roads to Zubin Potok and Leposaviq,
8.5m euros have been allocated for new buses and new health centres in northern Mitrovica, reconstruction of the water system in Zvecan, etc.
Since 2012, The EU has provided more than 3.5m euros for 35 agriculture projects in northern Mitrovica to support local producers living in northern Kosovo.
