Pristina University “hasan Pristina” this year is expected to accept about 70,000 students.
Even this year as last year, the only ones who will have relief from the ranks of war categories will have only children of martyrs, but not other categories.
Pristina University Rector Marjan Dema said that in all directions from the general number of students enrolled , 2 per cent of them will be children of NLA martyrs.
Even this year as we're going to accept, if the minister approves our request..., if you approve it we're going to register only two percent of the number according to software, according to the number of children of martyrs, not of other categories, not of veterans, not of disabled persons, except children of martyrs”, Demas quoted him as saying.
According to UP's sector, all those children-children of martyrs will have a 30 per cent threshold for university admission.
If they compete in a research programme or at a faculty where 400 students are accepted, it means 2 percent of 400 students are accepted from them, no more, the best can be, there can be 100 competing in medicine or education faculty four first. The rest that remain if they have free seats and that meet the criteria, pass the threshold then give them the chance to enroll in other faculties. We are very interested that this category on the basis of these criteria will help you to be part of Pristina University”, Dema said.
Under this UPI decision, no representatives of the associations released from the KLA war are pleased.
They say that with the UPP they have a memorandum of understanding but that it is not being implemented.
KLA Family Association Chairman Xhavit Jashari said they will not meet with Rector Dema, where they will hear about the form of assistance for the children of martyrs.
We have the memorandum in power that we've never severed. But, anyway, we're going to have a meeting with the reactor and we're going to find out what the form of helping children of martyrs are going to be, and I believe so far, as far as the children of martyrs are being treated at Pristina University, but I think it's also a duty for us to assist our institutions in this case, because our request is that students be registered to integrate like all other students, Jashar said.
As for the number of students, children of martyrs, Jashar said it would be a very small number, given that they are already the last generation of 18 years old.
I believe that the number of students from the families of the martyrs will be small because now the children have grown up and I believe there will be a very small number that will not be a problem, with the help of the reactor however much that help may be, because even children are prepared and I think all the children of the martyrs will be enrolled in Pristina University faculties”, Jashar said.
Until two years ago at the University of Pristina, children who have met war-free categories have been registered in UPP under a memorandum between war associations and UP's since the early post-war years.
But as Ramadan Zejnullahu came to the post of rector, this practice has been banned as he was suspected of abuses by KLA war associations.
Even protests by war veterans have been brought against those of Zeynep's decisions
