According to the BBC news on satellite images, the distance between the iceberg's width of 6 thousand kilometers, which on Wednesday broke off the Larsen C ice measure in western Antarctica.
The vast iceberg cut off from Antarctica's continent is moving toward the open ocean.
Scientists at the “Alfred Wegener” Institute in Germany who observe the move of the iceberg called “A-68” have indicated that according to images provided by the Deimos-1 satellite, the iceberg has so far moved as expected.
This iceberg is expected to spread toward the ocean with the impact of the winds coming from the Weddel Sea.
However, because of “Criolis effict”, it is estimated that the iceberg will remain around Antarctica.
The iceberg cut from Antarctica is a trillion tons, four times London's surface.
