One of the largest quantities of heroin ever seized in the Galicia region of Spain was marked last year in the town of Tui, not far from the border with Portugal.
About 54kg of heroin, the value of which accounts for 2.4m euros, were found hidden in a “Portche Caenne”. After the investigation, the case is now in court. The province's prosecutor, Pablo Warela, has already received a claim in which he cures the 6 accused of a 78-year prison sentence, in addition to fines millions of euros.
There is also a seventh indictee, Nikolin Ja., named the head of the Albanian branch of this alleged criminal organisation, for which expectations have not yet been granted.
The six accused are -- two Albanians, Rinush G. and Sokol R. and four suspected members of the Galicia branch. Castle Manuel GG., named by investigators as Spanish branch capo, previously convicted of drug trafficking. His wife, Maria del Carmen CD, who was also Castor Manuel GG's right-hand man, as well as two other men accused of being the group's last ones: José RR, previously convicted of drug trafficking and Marcos Antonio GB.
Albanian Rinush G., according to the prosecution, was the one who made the transportation of drugs from downtown Europe to Galicia, Spanish media reported.
The police operation that would carry members of the group into shackles began in 2016.
On February 24th, Rinushi left with a “Portche Caenne” from Barcelona to Germany and on March 18th, from this country to Holland to secure heroin.
The amount of drugs, according to prosecution investigations, would be handed over to Spaniard Castle Manuel GG and his wife. The delivery site was near a hotel in Tui (Panja), where the Albanian arrived on March 19th.
Agents also seized 43 mobile phones and 350,000 euros.
