Five people who were charged with the murder of former deputy prime minister and opposition politician, Boris Nemtsov, have been found guilty in 2015.
The jury of a military court in Moscow has ruled after a trial that has lasted two days.
The jury has not been able to make a unanimous decision, but most have voted in favour of the sentence.
Members of the jury have not anticipated lowering the sentence for those guilty of murder.
The five defendants -- Zaur Dadayev, Ansor Gubashev, Shagit Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhayev, and Tamerlain Eskerkhanov -- are from Chechnya, and all have been convicted of committing a pay murder.
The sixth person, former Chechen Army member Ruslan Mukhudinov, has been sentenced in absentia to organise crime.
Five defendants have declared themselves innocent. Judgment in this case began in October 2016.
